The addition of Kalkwasser has several positive effects on the water in a reef aquarium. The calcium level increases and if the KH is high enough, the phosphate concentration is reduced by precipitation. The growth of hair algae is inhibited and the development of calcerous algaes are encouraged.
Kalkwasserpowder can be used in all Kalkwasser reactors or Kalkwasser stirrers but be sure you follow the manufacturers instructions.
The best method is to replace the evaporated water in the aquarium using Kalkwasser solution pumped by an Aqua Medic Niveaumat (peristaltic pump with float switch) from a reservoir.
